William Jewell Votes Down Anti-Discrimination Clause

The student senate at William Jewell College voted down a proposed clause to add the words "sexual orientation" to the school's anti-discrimination policy.

The initiative needed a 75 percent majority to proceed to a vote by the student body.

About 60 percent of the senate voted to approve the measure.

For now the proposal is dead, unless a student petition brings back the issue.
