Six members of an Olathe family are recovering from carbon monoxide poisoning Friday.

At about 8 a.m., one of the adult family members called 911 from 125 Saxony Drive.

Two adults and four children --one of them an infant -- were nauseous and vomiting after a hot water heater in the basement started leaking carbon monoxide.

Officials said the levels in the house were very high and the family was lucky to have survived.

The family was taken to an Olathe hospital.
