Couple Sees Jesus Image In Door

Door To Be On Display At Church

POSTED: 7:45 am CST March 28, 2005

On Easter night, a Stark County, Ohio, family found religious encouragement from what would normally be a very ordinary object.

Dennis and Deana Florea believe that the wood grain of an old door displays an image of Jesus.

Dennis is a professional forensic investigator, and it has taken 30 years for him to speak out about what he sees when he looks at the piece of an old door.

He noticed it first and hesitated showing it to his wife.

Do you see Jesus or Virgin Mary?

Deana said she also thinks the image could also be the Virgin Mary because she sees eyelashes.

The Floreas cut it from a door from their former home because they believe it is symbolic of the biblical passages calling Christ the way, the truth and the life.

They said that everyone they've shown it to has seen one of two images.

He said the reason he is bringing up the image now is because of the Dec. 26 tsunami and other world events that just made it seem like the right time to share the experience.

Some have encouraged trying to sell it or even putting it on eBay, but Dennis says he will never do that.

The Floreas plan to share the image with the rest of their church congregation.

Photos will be displayed at the High Mill Church of the Resurrection in Plain Township, Ohio.
