Internships at KMBC are for college students who are interested in a career in broadcasting. Internship positions are for course credit only and do not pay salary or any monetary compensation.

REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURE:

Prospective interns must:

Receive course credit for their internship.

Have a faculty supervisor approve and supervise the internship.

Interview for the internship.

Prospective interns must complete the KMBC-TV Internship Application Form and submit it with a resume detailing work experience and education. A portion of the application must be completed by student's faculty supervisor.

Internships are available for all semesters throughout the year. Students should apply for internship positions during the cycle listed below.

July -- August for Fall Semester

November -- December for Winter Semester

March -- April for Summer Semester

KMBC-TV INTERNS MUST:

Work a minimum of ten (10) hours per week.

Wear a KMBC-TV Intern ID badge at all times while working in the building and on production shoots representing the station in the field.

Park their personal vehicle in visitor's public parking lots surrounding the building or on the street.

Cover all personal transportation costs associated with the internship position.

Adhere to the dress code policy as outlined by their KMBC-TV supervisor.

Complete all paperwork assignments associated with the internship as determined by the faculty supervisor.

Complete an exit interview with their KMBC-TV supervisor at the end of the internship.
