KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating the death of a woman at a local nursing home, KMBC's Jim Flink reported Wednesday.Officials said that on Thanksgiving morning, a woman in her 80s was found lying in her bed with her neck pinned between a side rail and the head of the mattress at Carondolet Manor.Police said it is not a criminal investigation until the coroner's report is finished.
"Anytime anybody dies --and it's not immediately apparent that the death was from natural causes -- our investigators are going to talk with anyone who discovered the body, anyone who has knowledge of what happened," Capt. Rich Lockhart said.Three employees at Carondolet Manor are on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
