Dog About To Be Euthanized Saves Its Own Life

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A dog about to be put down recently saved its own life by being smart.KMBC's Bev Chapman reported that the dog managed to stand out from the rest of the pack, and as a result, got rescued in the nick of time.The dog, now named Lucky, was living at the Kansas City, Mo., Animal Shelter, where she was brought in as a stray. No one claimed her, and no one wanted her.
So like many dogs, Lucky was scheduled to be put down, Chapman reported."She shook the guy's hand as he was going to put her to sleep and he put her back in the cage," said Andrea Galeski of Puppy's Playpen.Galeski said her organization wasn't look for another dog."She just looked at me with the look of, 'What do you want me to do next, just tell me what to do?' So I'm going to take her. She deserves a second chance," Galeski said.Lucky will be put up for adoption at Puppy's Playpen.Chapman reported that Kansas City Animal Control took in 10,000 dogs last year and euthanized 7,000 of them.More Information:
