KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City has announced an adoption process for two dogs found with severed legs in the northeast part of the city last month.A 2-year-old male Rottweiler, Rocky, was found with its rear right leg severed. A week before that, a female German shepherd/Labrador mix, named Misty, was found with a severed back leg.A hind leg of each dog had been chopped off at the knee.
"Because both of these dogs have been through so much, have special needs, and have touched the emotions of so many people across the region, we want to make especially sure they get relocated in home that are well suited for their situations," said Lesly Forsberg of the city's animal health division in a news release.Anyone interested in adopting the dogs is asked to fill out an application and explain why they want to adopt either dog.Adoption Form
