Boy Remains In Critical Condition After Shooting At Armory
About 300 People Present When Gunfire Erupts

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A 10-year-old boy remains in critical condition after a shooting Saturday at the National Guard Armory.
A 14-year-old girl was also shot. She was released from a hospital after treatment for her injuries.
Police said the two children were shot outside a birthday party for a teenage girl at the Armory, KMBC's Peggy Breit reported.
About 250 to 300 people were present at the Armory Saturday when a fight began inside the facility at about 1 a.m. The fight moved outside the Armory into the parking lot where shots were fired, police said. The Armory is located at 18th Street and Ridge Avenue.
Breit reported that three off-duty Wyandotte County sheriff's deputies also witnessed the fight. The deputies were reportedly working security inside the Armory.
Investigators are pursuing leads in this case and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the TIPS hot line at (816) 474-TIPS.
