More Than 100 Dogs Seized From KC Home
Owners Say Home Was 'Kennel'

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- An estimated 160 dogs were removed from a Kansas City home Tuesday night.
Animal Control officers said that they will go back to remove several cats Wednesday.KMBC reported that an anonymous tip led officers to the home on James A. Reed. The owners, Memory Miser and her daughter Karen Sue Brewer, said they run a kennel from their home.
Animal Control officers said that it was unlicensed and illegal. They said that they found dogs living in crates-- in deplorable conditions."You can't see the floor... the trash and the filth is indescribable," animal control officer Robin Kindrick said."We did take excellent care of the dogs. We didn't take very good care of our house, but we did take care of our dogs," Miser said.The dogs were taken to shelters to be examined. Miser and Brewer told say they were in the process of moving-- when the animal control moved in.
