Man Wrongly Accused Of Posing As Water Worker Wants Apology
All Charges Against Casterton Dropped Last Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man accused by Kansas authorities of posing as a water worker to burglarize senior citizens is speaking out.All charges against Dan Casterton (pictured, left), of Springfield, were dropped last week in Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Johnson counties.Casterton said that he wants a public apology. He made the rounds of local radio stations Monday in an effort to clear his name.
Casterton was jailed for 12 days on $300,000 bond in Leavenworth. He said his life was turned upside down."I missed my wedding day because of a crime I didn't commit," Casterton said.He also said that police should have realized he did not fit the suspect description of a man with brown eyes, tattoos and rotten teeth.Casterton credited his fiancee and friends with getting the charges dropped. They were able to track down a paper trail showing that Casterton was at work when the crimes were committed.Casterton said that he has gotten an apology from Johnson County, Kan., District Attorney Paul Morrison. But he said that he is still looking into filing lawsuits.
