A plane that was thought to have crashed in Clay County was found safe and sound, KMBC's Martin Augustine reported Tuesday.

At about 8 p.m., air traffic controllers in Kansas City received an emergency signal that could have indicated a downed plane from the Clay County Regional Airport, KMBC reported.

Clay County sheriff's deputies searched the area near the Mosby airport, but the plane was later found to have landed 10 miles away in Roosterville.

Officials said the emergency switch was apparently accidentally turned on.

No one was injured.
