'Headstrong For Jake' Will Promote Bicycle Safety

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The family of a 15-year-old boy who died after complications with a feeding tube has created a memorial to help others.In February, Jake Clough was injured in a bicycle accident and suffered a brain injury. A month later, he died at Children's Mercy Hospital when a feeding tube became dislodged in his abdomen, an autopsy showed.
Tom Clough, Jake's father, said his son was wearing his bike helmet and a Lance Armstrong "Live Strong" yellow wristband at the time of the accident.As a tribute to Jake, the Brain Injury Association of Kansas City developed a neon green wristband, which was the teenager's favorite color. The wristbands cost $3 each.Proceeds from the sale of the wristbands will go to the Brain Injury Association of Kansas City and will be used to promote bicycle safety.For more information or to purchase wristbands, contact:
