KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Pennsylvania man is accused of using the Internet to lure a Missouri teenager into having sex with him, KMBC's Peggy Breit reported Friday.

Prosecutors said 36-year-old Jeffrey Stephen Thomas spent 18 months seducing a 14-year-old girl from Nodaway.

According to court papers, the two met in a Yahoo chat room and she told him she was unhappy at home. Thomas allegedly offered to help the girl disappear and get a new identity if she would come to Pennsylvania.

Court records show that Thomas promised the 14-year-old numerous things to convince her to leave home, including a wedding, a large house, an SUV, children and dogs.

Prosecutors said the Internet exchanges became more explicit and included discussions of bondage and sadomasochism.

On April 15, Thomas arrived in northwest Missouri and picked up the girl, prosecutors said. Court papers state that the pair spent two days at a hotel engaged in a "spectrum of sexual intercourse."

Thomas allegedly told the girl he needed more time to "cover his tracks" and he went back to Philadelphia without her.

In July, the girl's parents allowed the FBI to record her phone conversations with Thomas. He is being brought back to Kansas City to face charges in federal court.
