KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police spent much of Thursday night and Friday morning removing truckloads of stolen items from several Midtown homes.Investigators discovered that three houses in the 4600 block of Tracy Avenue were stacked with stolen goods, including construction materials, tools, paint, riding lawnmowers, refrigerators, kitchen sinks, washing machines and other appliances. Officers suspect the items were taken from homes and construction sites.Officials were led to the homes after breaking up two burglaries Thursday. Bobby Veal, 71, was charged and was being held on $75,000 bond. Two others were taken into custody in the case.
According to court records, one of the men arrested told police that Veal buys stolen property.Investigators said they have heard from 150 possible victims since the items were found. Many of them had empty rental properties or houses that were burglarized.
