KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Detectives continue to investigate one of the largest stolen property rings in the Kansas City's history.KMBC's Dan Weinbaum reported that police are searching for more stolen goods after a huge bust last week. Monday, investigators searched the home of 71-year-old Bobby Veal at East 55th Street and Highland Avenue.Thursday, police found truckloads of allegedly stolen goods in three houses on Tracy Avenue that are owned by Veal.
In May 2004, Veal was ordered to pay $1.1 million for sexually harassing 11 former tenants. In an on-camera interview after the judgment, Veal told KMBC he wasn't worth $1 million.Federal officials claim Veal has been trying to hide his worth and allege he dumped 15 of his rental properties worth nearly $500,000 in an effort to appear poor.Veal posted bond over the weekend.Prosecutors said more charges could be filed in the case.
