LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A woman shopping at a Target store paid for her items and left. But she forgot her wallet at the checkout stand. Police say the customer behind her didn't forget it, and picked it up and walked out with it.Within two hours, police said, $1,004.38 had been charged on one of the credit cards in the woman's wallet. Investigators said that the card was used at Old Navy, Street Scene Shoes and Urban Outfitters.Investigators said that surveillance video at Target on March 11 showed the customer putting the wallet in her shopping bag.
"She makes a point to secretly stick that (wallet) into her bag, and walked directly past customer service where she could have turned it in," Officer John Boenker said.The woman is described as being in her 20s or 30s.
