LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. -- A fuel truck hit and killed a 23-year-old woman on a bicycle Wednesday night near Highways 150 and 291, police said.

Officials were called to a gas station at about 8:30 p.m. Police said the woman was riding her bike when she was hit by a gas tanker pulling into the parking lot. The woman was caught underneath the truck.

Police identified the woman as Audrey K. Lindvall.

KMBC's Chris Nagus reported that crews will need to use heavy equipment to remove the woman, but storms moving through the area are creating complications.

Police are talking with the truck driver and witnesses.
