WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The head coach of the Warrensburg High School football team was placed on leave and several players have been disciplined for alleged hazing incidents, KMBC's Marcus Moore reported Monday.Several parents and students told Moore that five football players played a prank on some younger players earlier this month. When head football coach Shane Taylor found out about it, the coach chastised the players involved, but it's what Taylor allegedly said that got him in trouble.
Taylor was placed on indefinite administrative leave with pay while the school investigates."We do not tolerate anything that violates policy ... We had some students make some bad decisions, and it led to the investigation we are currently pursuing," Athletic Director Jason Beavers said. The five football players have been disciplined and may have to sit out the Tigers' first game on Sept. 1, according to local news Web site digitalBURG.com.Several parents told Moore they support Taylor and that they don't agree with the suspension.Taylor has been head coach for the past seven seasons. He could not be reached for comment.
