SHAWNEE, Kan. -- Police said a raid Thursday netted drugs, weapons and thousands of dollars in cash.Investigators said they found 8 pounds of marijuana, stolen merchandise, $16,000 in cash and several weapons -- including sawed-off shotguns -- in a home at 70th and Constance streets in Shawnee."We were surprised they had the weapons in the house they did," Sgt. Vince Walk said.
Police said they also found evidence of financial crime.Officers said it's the largest bust they've had this year. It followed a year-long investigation, and police said an undercover officer had infiltrated a drug organization.Neighbors told KMBC's Peggy Breit the man and woman renting the home were present during the raid. Neighbors said they hadn't noticed any unusual activities at the house, and that the area was usually nice and peaceful. No arrests were made, but investigators said they expect to file charges against several people as a result of the bust.
