Mystery Cam: Party Preparation

Everyone's Geared Up For This Springtime Party

Laura Bobendrier, Staff Writer

After being cooped up inside all winter -- along with my cold-climate cohorts -- I'm not the only one who's ready for an outdoor barbecue.

And so I'm doing just that. This weekend, my roommate and I are hosting a spring gala, the likes of which have never been seen ... we hope.

What makes this party unique is that we have a pork connection. Yeah, you read that right. We were going to have a full-out pork roasting, but a lack of equipment and yard space has forced us to downsize the celebration to just grilling. But with 50 pounds of pork, that's a lot of grilling.

But the pork wasn't my idea. My brother and his fiancee were planning this pork roast completely independent of our little party, but when they heard about our plans, they suggested we join forces ... so they're in charge of all that grilling.

And that's probably the best part about this party. Aside from the house cleaning we'll have to do before and after, as well as some minor food preparation and supply purchasing, my roommate and I are really getting off the hook here. We get to eat, drink and mingle during the party, instead of making sure everyone has plenty of pork. Besides that, now we can divide the expenses four ways instead of just two.

I'm pretty sure we'll have a good turnout. Everyone around here is anxious to celebrate the sunshine ... plus, they're probably pretty curious about all this pork we've been talking about.

Although I'm very sorry I can't invite all of our viewers to this little soiree, I have a special surprise for you -- the Mystery Cam featured below. Any guesses yet?

Last Week

Amid his descriptions of summer movies in last week's column, Scott provided you with a Mystery Cam located in Point Pleasant, N.J. The musician he mentioned is none other than The Boss (you know, Bruce Springsteen), who's from just up the coast.

The sweet treat is New Jersey's famous saltwater taffy, and the hot dogs are Nathan's, available all along the shore. Yummy.

The three quickest to the send button were Erica Spurling, Will Kelton and Judy Lyman.

This Week's Clues

This area is known for its scenery, and this week's Mystery Cam is no exception. Although this particular mountain isn't a household name, there's a more famous one not too far away.

However, times are sad for the residents of this area. A longtime friend of theirs has just died, so to speak -- quite unexpectedly. One man said it was like the oldest person in his family died ... and the mourning is quite widespread.

That should be plenty to get you started. Dig through the state and country links above to match this image, and then send in your guess! The first three correct respondents will be awarded their glory in next week's column.
